We have accomplished assignments in the Far East, Continental Europe, Middle East, Mid Atlantic region, and other locations in the United States.

Our specialty is complete project support—concept to completion. We assist owners with space planning and allocation early in the project development; helping to incorporate client wants and needs into the overall interior design scheme.

Our services include: assistance with architectural plans/ review; development of an interior design theme; assistance with selection of appointments (kitchen design, lighting, space analysis, flooring and wall finishes, hardware, mouldings, paint and appliances, etc.); periodic monitoring of construction activities; assistance with changes/modifications; participation in meetings (when requested) with the builder and other vendors; and other consulting services requested by the Owners.

Jean Bouchoux Higgins, Owner and Chief Designer, attended the New York School of Interior Design and has recently been inducted into the Washington Design Center Designer Hall of Fame (September 2005). She has more than twenty years experience; residential and commercial— traditional and contemporary.

Early work involved commercial and residential kitchen design; subsequent projects involved the complete spectrum of military club design in support of the U.S. Army throughout the Far East (Japan and South Korea).

In the recent past Jean has designed, and supervised the installation of replacement furnishings (systems and case goods) for a major office building in the District of Columbia. She also developed the prototype kitchen design for the upgrade of 80 senior officer quarters in the U.S. Army Military District of Washington.

From 1990 to present Jean has operated from Washington, D.C. area. initially with her own business, JH Designs, specializing in commercial design. In 1993, she entered into a partnership with Candice Anderson forming Inside Out Interiors, Inc. When Candice relocated to Seattle, Washington, in September 1997 Jean  continued the Inside Out Interiors focus on residential work. Projects vary from large new construction to phased redesign, room by room.

Currently Inside Out Interiors has offices in Arlington, Virginia and Pinehurst, North Carolina.
Our varied experience here and abroad provides capabilities and expertise for managing complex logistics, shipping, and payment procedures. These projects have provided knowledge and experience for dealing with international suppliers and vendors. We have excellent resources for international, high quality products.

Inside Out Interiors uses Microsoft Project and the Microsoft Office suite of applications to develop project management tools such as project schedules and plans of work, bills of materials, and furnishings budgets. Additionally, we develop specific schedules related to interior design to compliment the architects/builders hardware, fenestration, doors, and finishes schedules.
